So you’re trying to figure out what types of airsoft guns you want to purchase? Playing with airsoft guns is pretty simple – you shoot whoever is shooting at you and whenever someone gets hit they leave the battlefield. But you won’t always be shooting someone from ten feet away so you might have to whip out your sniper rifle or a pistol for some close or long range combat.
So what guns do you need to purchase for your arsenal? Is there a particular gun that you should focus on when playing with your airsoft guns?
Let’s take a look at the benefits of each type of airsoft gun and figure out how you can use each one on the battlefield.
Pistols: Close Quartered Warfare
An airsoft pistol is great for when you need to shoot someone when they are close to you. Sure, pistols can shoot long distances, but they are ideal when you’re face to face with someone. The most common time people use pistols is when they run out of ammo in their rifles. You can load your pistol with pellets and use most of your pellets in your rifle, since the rifle is more powerful and probably shoots faster. But once the rifle runs out of ammo and you don’t have any extra pellets you can resort to your pistol to take out some of your opponents. This makes for a versatile and powerful arsenal in case you run out of ammunition.
Shotguns: Blast Away the Opposition
An airsoft shotgun is very similar to a regular shotgun. It shoots a spread of pellets so that you can take out several of your opponents in one shot. It’s great for beginners who don’t have the best accuracy, but a skilled shotgun shooter can walk into a close combat situation and take out several people.
Assault Rifles: Efficiency at the Max
The assault rifle is the standard in airsoft warfare. You get a powerful gun that shoots quite quickly and you don’t have to reload that often. Most people will have assault rifles as their main weapons and then they’ll figure out an extra weapon or two to improve the quality of their game.
Sniper Rifles: Picking Off Your Opponents
Most people know what a sniper rifle is for, and your standard airsoft sniper rifle does pretty much the same thing as anything you see on a real battlefield. Your sniper rifle should never be the only weapon you carry around, but sharpshooters should bring it along to knock out unsuspecting opponents.
